Feelings and Needs List

Identifying your own and another person's feelings and needs is important to build rapport and trust. Without judgment but with curiosity and a genuine bid for connection, ask the other if they are feeling one of these feelings and needing one of these needs. It's okay to guess incorrectly as long as your purpose is to get to know the person, not diagnose them. (This list is based on the lists produced by The Center for Nonviolent Communication.)
